About

USM is a web-based server management tool for Ubuntu Linux is under development that will scale from a single to multi server system for home or buisness. Features include the ability to manage multiple profiles and user accounts and install new software remotely. In time it will be able to fulfill requirements such as backups, e-mail, streaming, Domain Controller etc.

Client in development

Development has started on a new client application which will run in the system try and reveal a menu on right click, the servers services will be picked up by this client application making it easier to use them or setup your client programs.

Repository Browsing

You can now view the files in the repository from the menu on the left, the repository was also updated because of an error with the size of the usm-core file.

Site Updates

We have updated the site to use the new drupal 6, this also means the site can now be used with openid accounts for simpler logins.

New Content Management System

Because of the time ubuntu server managers development is taking up, it has been decided to use drupal to manage the site, because the previous site needed much work to get into good working order.

repository created for testers and the brave can be found at:

this repository currently only contains a development version which gets updated periodically, it will eventually become a stable version.

Access Rights Implementation

Ubuntu Server Manager, now has access rights implemented, pages and plugins can all be restricted to selected groups of users.
